The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host meetings of the Executive Office and the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in its 22nd session in Al-Ahsa - the Arab Tourism Capital for the year 2019 - under supervision of the General Authority of Tourism and National Heritage during the period 21-23 December.



The Arab Tourism Organization headed by Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid participates the meetings of the Executive Office in its 25th session and the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in its 22nd session in the Arab Tourism Capital of Al-Ahsa for the year 2019, where the KSA  will take over the presidency of the session from Egypt.


The Saudi News Agency quoted Dr. Al-Fahid as saying that the agenda of the meeting will include many topics related to Arab tourism affairs, including:


  1. The report and decisions of the second joint meeting of the ministers of tourism and culture in the Arab countries.
  2. The updated draft and document of the Arab Strategy for Tourism which submitted by the Ministry of Tourism in Egypt.
  3. The action plan submitted by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority to activate the tourism information and statistics hub in order to support the Arab tourism strategy, and support Palestine in the tourism domain , the results and recommendations of the soft tourism forum in the Arab region that was held in Egypt.
  4. The paper submitted by the Arab Interior Minister’s Council on tourism security challenges and coping mechanisms.
  5. Putting forward several important topics for discussion during the meeting to serve the tourism throughout the Arab world, such as the establishment of an Arab economic forum concerned with tourism affairs in order to present and exchange Arab tourism experiences between the Arab countries.
  6. The recommendations of the second Arab Forum for Tourist Security, which was recently held in the Arab Tourism Capital, Al-Ahsa, under the presence of His Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin AbdulAziz, Governor of the Eastern Province.
  7. Submit the updated standards for the Arab Tourism Capital, and make a presentation in cooperation with the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage .
  8. Events and programs carried out in Al-Ahsa during its coronation as the Capital of Arab Tourism for 2019.


Al-Fahid stated that at the end of the meeting, members of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism for the year 2020-2021 will be electing, agreeing the date and venue for the 23rd session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism and the 27th session of its executive office in 2020, and that the Arab Tourism Organization is interested in supporting and developing The Arab Tourism Investments which will lead to the development of all the difficulties and obstacles, as it is recently established the Tourism Arbitration Center, which includes in its membership an elite of legal personalities throughout the Arab world to solve any problems facing these investments.
